Yes, she uses aftermarket ink cartridges. No, her budget doesn't allow the luxury of purchasing genuine Epson ink cartridges.

My mother recently contacted me, asking why her Epson printer keeps beeping and showing an error message. After a drive to her home I found her WF-3640 printer beeping, and beeping, and beeping, with the following message on her Epson printer: "cannot recognize the following ink cartridges".

I just wanted to say thank Epson Printer Support team for following up me. Thanks again for providing a great service!

Arrived here at the Plainfield, IN warehouse and was assigned a dock fairly quick. After an hour and without even being locked into the dock I went back in. I was told the computers were down for 5 hrs this morning, and in 20 minutes it is shift change. They didn't even have the load picked yet. What the hell. If drivers are gonna be late due to weather or traffic we call dispatch so they can let the customer know. Shippers and receivers should have the same policy.

Fortunately, my mother purchased her printer last month from Costco. I plan to box it up and return it this weekend.

Goodbye, Epson!

I contacted Epson Tech Support, and after a conversation with a nice young man, I realized that they are attempting to strong-arm their customers into purchasing their brand of ink. The reason, according to Epson, is to guarantee the print quality of their printers. The real reason, as the rest of us know, is to coerce their customers to only purchase their overpriced, high margin ink.

I had the Epson Stylus NX530 Printer for several years and I loved it. I am quite elderly and learned how to use it very quickly. I took some very bad advice from a friend and ordered refill ink from other than Epson. That was a mistake because even after returning to Epson Ink the printer did not operate properly. So I called Epson and told the lady about my problem. I told her I needed to purchase the same printer, or at least an upgrade of the same printer. She assured me that I would be happy with the Epson XP640. It was shipped to me and the next time my son was in town he installed it for me. I hate it!! It is not the same. I can't print because I keep getting the message that I am out of paper in #2. I have read and re-read the instructions. This printer is very small and loading the paper is extremely difficult for me. I wish I had my NX530 back. I wish I would have waited for one of my sons to help me so I could have purchased a printer that was equal to the NX530. The XP640 is not for me.

Since my wife works there the Improvement at Epson has been 400% she is very knowledgeable courteous and professional on all levels if the higher-ups in that company would take her lead when it comes to customer service they might learn a thing or two sometimes a place has too many chiefs and not enough Indians and from my experience as an operator engineer Indians are what make or break a company common sense is all you need we're all human no matter what are pay scale is

In my opinion, Epson has crossed the line. They forgot about the customer. They forgot why they became successful.

I refuse to do business with companies lacking integrity. I don't need this in my life.

I can't imagine Dell creating a policy whereby one of their computers wouldn't work unless tied to a Dell monitor. Or a Toyota throwing up warnings unless aftermarket parts were used to repair a failure. Or an iPhone refusing to work with non-Apple apps.

Honestly, I was expecting some type of workaround to shut off the beeping and warning message. Perhaps a firmware upgrade, or a key sequence that would shut off the bleeping beeping... but it was explained again that Epson needs to be able to guarantee their print quality. There is no way to stop the beeping.
