These folks outdid themselves. We went for a Veteran's Day meal. It was delicious. I loved every part of my meal. The folks are genuinely nice as well. You know they took a big hit financially to have a day like this, but they treated us like we paid big dollars. I am thankful. I have been here before. I have been happy with my food and service each time.
Another thing that makes it better is the cleanliness! The bathrooms were clean, the plates and silverware were clean and when you walked in there was no unpleasant odor.
Their food was good. Hot, unusual. Both the dessert bar and the salad bar needed attention, cleaning up after messy people. The staff at the Plainfield location is definitely not as friendly as the Greenwood location.
I am not usually inspired to write a review on restaurants. However, the food at Golden Corral was not just bad, but concerning. I began with a salad and grilled chicken, and found the chicken was starting to turn. I spent the rest of the meal trying to determine what was "safe" to eat. Everything I tried was either overdone, cold, or both. It was our daughter's birthday and I am thankful at least for the kind waitress that tried to make her feel special. Unfortunately that does not make up for the rest of the bad experience.
We prefer this location instead of the one on 38th Street in Indianapolis (which is closest to us). This location is a little higher priced but the quality of the food is an extreme improvement from the other location mentioned.
Sure the buffet is a little smaller but the food and service are phenomenal.
As a connoisseur of tasty treats, i can assure you Golden Corral is top notch. I was apprehensive at first. I have never been to a Golden Corral despite the best efforts of Jeff Foxworthy. Let me tell you, I was impressed. I’ve been bored out of my mind eating uneventful lunches, but this lunch was accompanied by a wonderful show of fisticuffs (fighting). Let me tell you how delighted I was when I turned from scooping cold mashed potatoes to see that brawl ensuring behind me. One could comfortably view the whole fight from the salad bar to the desert table and was even viewable from the large front windows when they were removed from the establishment. I would have been very disappointed not being able to watch them be cuffed, questioned, especially when they were brought to jail. It is reasuring to know that the local police department is quick and efficient. I would recommend this to anyone look to bring the family to a nice night in the town.
