Food tonight was the best! Whoever was cooking around midnight definitely know how to cook a steakburger! The fries were fresh and hot! Everything we ordered was correct!
Steak and shake has mouth watering hamburgers. But sometimes I need a scrumptuous salad instead. Everything in the salad is separate on the plate instead of all mixed up. Somehow this pleases me because I can eat as much or as little as I want of each vegetable on the plate. Service is always great.
Sign on the door read "No Bacon". Large number of guests but we were seated right away. Took some time for our burgers. Our shakes took forever to arrive. The waitress said they were really backed up with just one attendant mixing. Picked the shakes up at the register as we were checking out. The kitchen food prep line directly visible from the register was a disaster. Food cluttering the full length of the floor. Just a real turn off. Very Miss managed by not training employees to observe and take action. The till attendant had been standing around and could have taken a push broom and cleared the kitchen clutter to the back. No reason for incompetence. Just to be fair they did comp the food.
Worst experience in a restaurant ever. Seated at a table that still had fries on the floor under it. When we finally received our shakes, my son's cookie dough shake was just vanilla with a couple chocolate pieces tossed in it and the mine was melted with the whip cream dripping down the side. The waitress knocked over my younger son's drink and said, "I'll bring you some napkins." She then proceeded to take orders from two different tables and bring there drinks without even looking our way. Wife ordered chili mac dinner and never received her salad. When the food finally arrived, my order wasn't even taken correctly, and wife's got cold because she asked for parmesan which was never brought. Asked for a manager who just sitting in the back room, but still made me wait for a few minutes before getting up. After telling her everything that had happened, she only offered to remake my sandwich. Seemed like pulling teeth to let her know we did not want to eat there.
They were slow to seat us when we came in... they were not that busy at all. Then it took almost 10 min to get our oder placed. They forgot the chili and then forgot the extra mayo. The chili had very little flavor.
The place was fairly clean.
